Team Gargoyles is made up of current military & Law enforcement professionals and civilians working in support of the military & law enforcement community. Each one of the Gargoyles Shooting Team members share a common goal - performance excellence within their chosen professions and within the shooting sports community.

Mark Quinn-Team Captain

USPSA A Class Limited Division
Mark has been the Captain and driving force of Team Gargoyles since 2009. He has served the past 34 years in the US Military with a majority of his active time spent in the Anti-Terrorism community. While there, Mark has competed, coached and instructed many units for their service competitions including help stand up the USAR Small Arms Training Team which was the reserve equivalent to the active duty AMU. Mark found the Action Pistol sports in 2000 and discovered Production Division with the USPSA. Now primarily a Limited Division specialist, he has risen to the rank of A Class. Mark was selected to represent the United States on the Men’s Senior Standard Team at the 2011 World Shoot in Rhodes, Greece.  Mark will coordinate all members match schedules and all promotional events on behalf of Team Gargoyles.

 

 

Kepa Zubizarreta-Team Member

USPSA Master Class Limited/Production Divisions
Kepa has been a Law Enforcement Officer for a large western state police department since 2007. In 2011, he joined their Special Operations Team as an Operator. Kepa started shooting competitively in 2005 in Production Division of USPSA and quickly reached Master Class in 2006 and attained Master Class status in Limited Division in 2009. During that time, Kepa has won many prestigious events such as the USPSA Area 3 Production Division title, the Idaho State Sectional Production & Limited Division titles and finished in the Top 16 at the US Production Nationals. He has also competed in the World Police Games bringing home a Silver Medal in the Team Competition and the Gold Medal for the Individual Competition. However, his biggest claim to fame was at the 2010 USSA Pro-Am Match where he was the High Overall Single Stage Winner in the Pro Division Skins match where he took home the largest Skin prize of the match of $2,500. The Television Show Shooting USA taped the event and has broadcast it numerous times over the past couple of years making Kepa a recognized crowd favorite whenever he shoots matches.

 


Todd Kunz-Team Member

USPSA Master Class  Limited/Limited 10 Divisions

Todd also started shooting in 1994 and became a Law Enforcement officer in 1995. He has worked for the Department as their Lead Firearms Instructor and Member of the ILEAS Region 8 Special Response Team (SRT).  Many times Todd competes alongside and against his brother Tim. Often times they will finish 1st and 2nd in whatever Division they choose. Todd has won events such as the 2010 and 2011 USPSA Area 5 Limited 10 Division Championships, the Missouri Fall Classic Limited Division title and finished in the top 16 at the 2009 Steel Nationals. Todd has also crossed over in the IDPA circuit and was the 2008 Illinois State Champion. Todd will also climb the standings in pursuit of becoming a Grand Master and family Champion while competing against his brother Tim.

 

 

Roy Neal-Team Member

USPSA Master Class Limited 10 Division
2012 will be Roy’s first official year on the team and comes from Southeast Michigan where he works in the Insurance industry for many firearm and related company’s.  Roy got started shooting while serving in the US Air Force. In 1997, he met noted gunsmith and author Patrick Sweeney who introduced him to competitive shooting through the local gun store. He then went on to work for that gun store in their Training Division for Law Enforcement and civilian customers. He has numerous Top 10 overall finishes over the years at major matches; winning Limited Division’s A class at the Ohio Sectional in 2009 & 2011. In 2011 he also won the Western Pennsylvania Sectional Single Stack Division.  Roy is known in the shooting community as a writer for several firearm publications focusing on testing new products and match reports. He will serve the Gargoyle team by writing about Team Gargoyle members performances at many of the match’s this upcoming season.

Ted Puente-Team Member

USPSA Grand Master Limited/Limited 10 Divisions                        
Ted has been a Law Enforcement Officer for a large Midwest Police Department since 1993. He has served in a variety of positions on the force including Firearms Instructor at the Police Academy. Ted has turned the skills and life lessons he has learned as a Police Officer into becoming one of the top competitive shooters in the world. He has achieved the highest rank of Grand Master in multiple Divisions in the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). He has won the 2006 and 2007 USPSA Multigun National Championship and in 2009 became the first active duty Law Enforcement Officer to win the Limited Division Title. In 2011, he represented the United States in Greece at the World Shoot where he finished 3rd overall and received the bronze medal for Standard Division. Ted is one of only three instructors qualified to teach the prestigious Frank Garcia Universal Shooting Academy method that almost all top competitive shooters find as a requirement. Ted will help assist Team Gargoyle members with all their coaching needs this year with hands on training and shooting match’s side by side with other Team Members.
